#Allgrove Mrs. Ullmann's class had a very exciting visit from Mr. Brian Nelson, a parent of one of her students, who joined her class with a model of a real space suit manufactured by his company, Collins Aerospace. Mr. Nelson taught students about the parts of the space suit and the importance of each part to ensuring a safe visit to space. Students continued to learn by asking questions about gravity, visits to space, and the different departments in Collins Aerospace.
#EGHS Architectural Design students constructed gingerbread houses from scratch. The judges, Mr. Gustafson, Mrs. Dugre and Ms. Park judged the competition and awarded first place to Tyler Marques and William Van Neil. Second Place went to Sarina Abraham and third place went to Mackenzie Dubois.
#EGHS EGHS Choir performed holiday songs at Bradley International Airport on 12/18! THank you to Ms. Gilbert for organizing this annual and festive event.

#EGMS The Middle School held their first ever Winter Craft Fair. Many students participated in selling and buying crafts made by our Career Readiness Class. Students were very enthusiastic about selling, and did an excellent job on making these crafts!!! :)
#EGMS This week was the first meeting of Friendship Club. Students made sock snowmen and tested their architectural skills by building gingerbread houses in teams. The students also made friendship snowmen and identified the traits of a good friend. Students also played a fun game with lots of laughter!
#Seymour Fourth grade students are using nutrition labels to determine the healthiest cereal. Many beloved cereals were already eliminated. Who will win? Updates to come after the winter holiday!

#EGMS Mrs. Riloff's Grade 7 Spanish class had a game show today: "Spanish's Got Talent!" We saw dancing, rapping, guitar playing, weather forecasting, and book reading done in Spanish so that students could demonstrate their learning about weather, climate, and seasons.
#EGMS Mr. Dorr's Grade 6 science students were exploring lampreys up close today! Did you know they are sometimes called 'the vampires of the Great Lakes" due to their parasitic acts on other animals? The sixth grade scientists had lots of fun!
#EGMS In Mr. Hurlburt's Grade 7 science class, students constructed prosthetic hands out of cardboard and string! The students' hands had to pass some functional tests to see if they had been properly engineered. Look at this student using a cardboard hand to pour a glass of water!
#EGHS Members of the High School Chorus performed at the annual Tree Lighting on Friday, December 1. They performed Silent Night as well as led a sing-a-long of holiday favorites for all that attended.
#Seymour Decomposers Thank you to Amanda Thompson, from the Traprock Ridge Land Conservancy, for teaching fifth grade students all about decomposers and their important role in the environment.
