This week Kindergarten art students created hearts in the style of  American artist, Alma Woodsey Thomas. She developed her signature abstract style in her 70s using brilliant colors and strong dash lines. Thomas became the first black female artist to have a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art. She also had several paintings displayed at the White House.
